Welcome to the site of O.J.'s Big Band Sound, under the direction of Dr. Wayne Pegram. This 21-piece swing band performs public and private engagements throughout the year around the Cumberland Plateau region and Middle Tennessee.
The next public performance is a concert on Friday, April 23, 2010 at the Palace Theatre in Crossville, TN as part of Jazz Appreciation Month. the beautiful, historic Palace Theatre is located at 72 South Main Street, Crossville, Tennessee. Tickets will still be available for purchase at the Palace Theatre approximately 4 weeks prior to the performance.
Due to a new ticketing partnership, all Performing Arts Alliance of Rural Tennessee events may be purchased in advance by calling the box office of the Cumberland County Playhouse at 931-484-5000, or by visiting them online at https://tickets.ccplayhouse.com/public/ (a small ticketing fee will apply) While you are there be sure to check out all of the outstanding performances being presented by the Playhouse this season!

Big Band Sound members perform with the Southern Stars Symphonic Brass
Trombonist Carroll Gotcher, trombone/trumpet Jack Strotman, and trumpeter Jeff White are members of the Southern Stars Symphonic Brass. The group was founded by Dwight Wages, and is under the baton of Dr. Don Ryder, director of the University of Tennessee Symphonic Band and the "Pride of the Southland" marching band.
Members include professional musicians from the Knoxville and Bryan Symphony Orchestras, the Jack Daniels Silver Cornet Band, and with major nationally-known artists from Knoxville, Chattanooga, Crossville, Cookeville and the Nashville areas.
